The trailer shows Ray Romano replacing Jay as head coach, though Jay still appears, and cameos by Octavia Spencer, Lisa Rinna, and Nicole Richie.
Brenda Song, Max Greenfield, Fabrizio Guido, Chet Hanks, and Jon Glaser are also among those reprising their roles for Season 2.
Running Point was co-created by Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, and Elaine Ko, and the comedy series is a fictionalized version of the now-former Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss. The Buss family sold the Lakers to Mark Walter for approximately $10 billion last June, per ESPN. Jeanie Buss is now the team's governor.
"Mindy has a way of capturing things so well and so succinctly,” Buss told Netflix's Tudum. "What I really liked was she understood what it was like to be in this position. I could spend hours trying to explain what she can say in one scene with a couple lines of dialogue. It’s brilliant."
