The Pokémon Company announced the next expansion for mobile card battling game Pokémon TCG Pocket: Fantastical Parade.

The Fantastical Parade expansion will bring with it a host of powerful new support cards, particularly for Psychic-type decks. The set will introduce Mega Gardevoir ex, a new card that deals massive amounts of damage and accrues three Psychic energy each time it attacks, making already powerful Psychic-type decks even more fearsome.

The card is expected to make the first meta-defining card in the game, Genetic Apex’s Mewtwo ex, competitively viable again, after having fallen out of favor due to power creep in recent expansions.

In addition to the new Pokémon, the Fantastical Parade expansion will also introduce Stadium cards to the game for the first time. These new cards are placed on the field next to the active Pokémon and confer effects to both sides of the field.

For example, the Peculiar Plaza Stadium card allows both players to reduce the retreat cost of their Psychic-type Pokémon by two energy, allowing players to freely switch out most Psychic-type Pokémon if they get too damaged.

Here’s the official description of the new expansion, courtesy of The Pokémon Company:

In Fantastical Parade, players can look forward to elevating their collecting and battling experience by opening new booster packs featuring Mega Gardevoir. The expansion will introduce new Mega Evolution Pokémon ex cards, with the Legendary Pokémon Ogerpon making its Pokémon TCG Pocket debut as Teal Mask Ogerpon ex. In addition, cards from Fantastical Parade will feature colorful festival-themed illustrations, as well as Stadiums – which will make their debut as a new subtype of Trainer cards, shaking up the in-play zone during battles.

“Pokémon TCG Pocket”: Fantastical Parade will be available in-game from January 28, 2026.
