Comedian Nikki Glaser is set to host the 83rd Golden Globes on Sunday, expecting to deliver a short tribute to the recently murdered 78-year-old acclaimed filmmaker and actor, Rob Reiner.
Who is Nikki Glaser?
Glaser hosted last year’s awards show, making history as the first woman to host the ceremony solo. After making her debut as Golden Globes host, Glaser was praised by an army of social media users, including revered comedian Jon Stewart, who described her performance onstage as "very, very good."

The Emmy-nominated comedian has had several television stand-up specials, as well as having previously hosted the television talk show Not Safe with Nikki Glaser. Glaser also acted in Trainwreck and I Feel Pretty.
She Has One Target In Mind for Jokes This Year
This week, Glaser told Kelly Ripa on Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast that “there’s someone that we might come after this year.” She added that “I don’t want to reveal who,” but noted that she doesn’t believe “they have a good sense of humor.”
Glaser added that "this person maybe takes themselves too seriously.”

And One She's Treading Lightly On...
The host is expected to make jokes about several celebrities, but told Yahoo she is struggling to make one about Julia Roberts. “She is the most sacred of cows in America,” she told Yahoo.
She noted that she has been testing out various material on the actress in clubs, and the jokes haven’t hit at all. “Not even the lightest, most innocent joke. It’s as if I was joking about JonBenét [Ramsey],” she told the outlet.
She Plans to Honor Movie Director Rob Reiner
The host plans to honor the recently killed Reiner and his wife, Michele Reiner. The couple was found dead in December. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner officially reported that they died from “multiple sharp force injuries.” Their son, Nick Reiner, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder. He appeared in court for a second time on January 7.
Glaser told USA Today that, while there is no in memoriam portion of the program, "I have something planned that I'm going to do in my own way to just acknowledge (Reiner) and celebrate him in my own way."
She says she knew the filmmaker and actor, "but not that well." She continued, "I'm not going to linger on it too much because I think that's what we've been doing for the past few weeks. But obviously, I thought if something happened to me and Rob Reiner was hosting a show, given our relationship, how would I want him to handle it? I think I landed on something that I feel he would do for me, too."
Where Can I Watch the Golden Globes?
The Golden Globe Awards will air live on CBS and Paramount+ in the U.S. on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. The awards will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
