Shakira is finding herself at the center of a controversy after fans accused her of "plagiarizing" Beyoncé's Renaissance tour with her own Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour.

Photos from Shakira's first concert stop on Tuesday, February 11 at Rio de Janeiro's Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos sparked the debate, with fans quickly drawing comparisons to Queen Bey's iconic 2023 tour. The most striking similarity came from the visuals, where the "Hips Don't Lie" singer displayed her name and tour title on a massive screen, much like Beyoncé did with her Renaissance branding.

But the comparisons didn't end there. Shakira's use of a metallic wolf on stage, a large and dramatic visual element, was eerily similar to Beyoncé's giant silver horse. Fans were also quick to note that both Shakira and her dancers wore silver outfits –– a striking parallel to Sasha Fierce and her crew.

"Beyoncé team needs to sue Shakira at this point.. she wasn't taking notes, she's plagiarizing 😂😂," pointed out one user on X (formerly Twitter).

"Shakira took her and Beyoncé switching positions in the Beautiful Liar video a little too literal, now she thinks she's performing the Renaissance World Tour 😭," another noted, referring to their collaboration on "Beautiful Liar" in 2006.

Other fans came to the 15-time Latin Grammy winner's defense, posting things like, "'Shakira copied Beyoncé' Meanwhile, it's beyoncé who has been copying shakira since the 90s," and "A lot of comparison between Shakira and Beyoncé... Let me know when Beyoncé can sing in 5 languages."

"I think Shakira is implying she's the Beyoncé of Latin music, to which I say, she's correct," another fan theorized.

In an interview with Harper's Bazaar published on Wednesday, February 12, Shakira's stylist Nicolas Bru explained the thought process behind her stage outfits for the tour, many of which were designed by the iconic fashion house Versace. Interestingly, Beyoncé also wore several Versace outfits during her Renaissance tour, further fueling comparisons between the two stars' fashion choices.

"The first designer we reached out to was Donatella Versace for the opening look; [the show] kicks off with a lot of pop, electronic songs and we really wanted something bold, fun, sexy, confident and strong - and that's Versace," Bru explained to the outlet.

At this time, neither Shakira or Beyoncé have addressed the accusations. Meanwhile. Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin' Circuit Tour kicks off in Los Angeles on April 28.
