E! will not be renewing Busy Tonight, Busy Philipps' late-night talk show, the actress revealed on social media late Sunday evening.

"Hey guys, [I] just wanted to let you know my show, Busy Tonight, won't be continuing on the E network after May 16," Philipps, 39, tweeted. "I'm beyond proud of what we've built in such a short period of time and I'm hopeful we can find the right place for the show to live on."

Produced by Tina Fey's Little Stranger, Inc., the chatfest launched in October 2018, billed as "everyone's favorite unfiltered Hollywood best friend giving her hilarious and outspoken opinions on the latest pop culture stories and trending topics." The show has managed to attract A-list celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Julia Roberts, Tracee Ellis Ross and Oprah for interviews and special appearances.

In a statement, an E! spokesperson called Philipps "a hilarious and charismatic talent."

"We are grateful to the entire Busy Tonight team, who has delivered countless laughs and heartwarming moments in what will be over 100 episodes," they added.

Best known for her roles on Dawson's Creek, Freaks and Geeks and Cougar Town, Philipps has been the lone woman on late-night TV circuit since the show's premiere. Starting in September, YouTuber Lilly Singh will host NBC's new late-night talk show, A Little Late with Lilly Singh. Philipps said she thought it was "lame" there would "just be one woman in late night at a time." (Both E! and NBC are subsidiaries of NBCUniversal.)

It’s the perfect dress for both the Ren Fair AND to let you know my show Busy Tonight won’t be returning to the E network after May 16. You can see me talk about it in my stories if you’re interested. But yeah. We have 8 more shows on E and then who knows what the future will bring. ✨✨

In an Instagram story, Philipps praised her team for creating a show with "a real point of view."

"I feel like we've been able to accomplish so much creatively—and, I guess, culturally... I'm so proud of all the things we've been able to do. I feel like the show [was] really successful in that way."

She teased that Busy Tonight may find new life on a new network: "We're meeting with people and looking to see if there's another place for it to go. Because I'd like to keep continuing it."

News of the cancellation comes the same day Philipps was nominated for best Show Host at the inaugural Critics Choice Real TV Awards. "Well this is a f*cking WILD turn of events," she tweeted in response to her nomination.

The final episode of Busy Tonight airs May 16 on E!.
