Goku and Vegeta are coming to Bandai Namco and Arc System Works' Dragon Ball FighterZ in their "base" or "black hair" forms. A new trailer shows off the gameplay of both fighters.
For the uninitiated, "base form" refers to the fighters when they are not in any of their Super Saiyan forms (i.e., prior to the Frieza Saga). The upcoming DLC characters show off some of their classic attacks in the new footage, like the Spirit Bomb and the Kaioken.
Take a look at Base Goku and Vegeta's Dragon Ball FighterZ gameplay trailer below.

The latest issue of Famitsu reveals Base Goku will have the Kaioken, which allows him to perform consecutive attacks after activation. When an ally falls in battle, the Kaioken can be increased to power up by a multiple of three or 20. Goku's special is the Spirit Bomb, which is very powerful, but just like in the show, it takes time to pull off.
According to Famitsu, Base Vegeta can use his Galick Gun to launch an energy attack towards the ground, so it should be a combo finisher and can be used in mid-air. Galaxy Breaker is Base Vegeta's special, allowing the Saiyan Prince to unleash energy from his entire body.
Bandai Namco did not announce a specific release date for Base Goku and Base Vegeta, but did reveal it will be sometime in August. Dragon Ball FighterZ players will be able to purchase and download them separately or as part of the Fighter Pass. The Fighter Pass includes the previous DLC characters (Broly, Bardock, Fused Zamasu, SSGSS Vegito) and future fighters.
Dragon Ball FighterZ comes to the Nintendo Switch on Sept. 28, and an open beta for the game will be available in August. The Switch version will come with new local multiplayer modes, including 2 vs 2, 1 vs 1 and a six-player Party Mode match.
