President Donald Trump has said his administration will release UFO-related government files in the near future, claiming the material includes accounts that “you wouldn’t believe.”
In February, Trump said he would task Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth with starting the process of identifying and releasing government UFO files and, since then, calls have grown from lawmakers for materials to be made public.
Speaking in remarks aired by Fox News, the president said he had personally interviewed military pilots who described witnessing unexplained phenomena.

He told reporters: “I think we’re going to be releasing as much as we can in the near future. Anything having to do with UFOs or related material we are going to be releasing. And I think a lot of it is going to be very interesting.
“I’ve interviewed people [in] my first term primarily, but I interviewed some pilots, very solid people, and they said they saw things that you wouldn’t believe. So you’re going to be reading about it.”
White House spokesperson Anna Kelly told Newsweek on Thursday: "President Trump directed the Department of War to begin the process of identifying and releasing government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena, and unidentified flying objects because he is the most transparent president in history. Stay tuned."

Calls To Release the Files
Calls for the files’ release from lawmakers have been growing in recent weeks, including from Florida Republican Representative Anna Paulina Luna, who said on a recent podcast appearance she would hold a press conference addressing what she described as materials or information of “nonhuman origin.”
“I have seen evidence in a SCIF [sensitive compartmented information facility] that leads me to believe there are things we cannot explain," said Luna, who chairs the House Oversight Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets. “I have observed things that are of nonhuman origin and creation. That’s my opinion.”
Tennessee Republican Representative Tim Burchett—another leading advocate for UFO transparency—has also called for government agencies to release information to the public, saying he has been briefed on some “pretty wild” things.
Trump's remarks come amid sustained congressional scrutiny of unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), with lawmakers since 2022 holding hearings on military sightings, intelligence reports and the Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) investigations.
The Pentagon told Newsweek previously that the AARO “is working in close coordination with the White House and across federal agencies to consolidate existing UAP records collections and facilitate the expeditious release of never-before-seen UAP information.”
“Since the office was established, AARO has made progress to make UAP information available and transfer those records to the National Archives in accordance with federal law,” the department said.
“We welcome the president's initiative to supercharge these efforts and make more UAP information available to the public as soon as possible," it added.
Trump's Remarks on Jared Isaacman's Ears
Trump also commented on NASA administrator Jared Isaacman’s ears during the question-and-answer session.
When asked by a reporter about any plans to relocate NASA’s headquarters from Washington, D.C., Trump turned to Isaacman and said: “The best man to tell you that is the man standing right over here.
“You heard that question with those beautiful ears of yours? He’s got great hearing, you know. He’s got super hearing.”
