A video of a dog "jumping for joy" to see her owner return home from a trip has captured the hearts of viewers on TikTok.
The video was shared by @doginthehague, the TikTok account of an English cocker spaniel in The Hague in the Netherlands.
The clip shows a cocker spaniel playing with a toy on the floor. A caption overlaid on the screen says, "I was just chilling when all of a sudden...," as a doorbell is heard and the pup immediately looks up to face the door.

The dog scurries towards the door and does a "little sit" in front of it before skipping back towards the camera.
"Winnie, who is it? Is that mama?" a voice off-camera says, as the pup runs back to the door where she's greeted by her human mom who was on a work trip.
The dog appears ecstatic, jumping up as the woman kneels down next to her suitcase to cuddle the pup.
A caption shared with the post asks: "How can I ever leave the house again?! She is the best."
The close bond between Winnie and her owner comes as no surprise because "dogs can form relationships of comparable qualities with both humans and other dogs," explained a March 2019 study published in Scientific Reports.
A May 2013 study published in PLOS One found that the unique bond between adult dogs and their owners "bears a remarkable resemblance to an infant attachment bond: dogs are dependent on human care and their behavior seems specifically geared to engage their owners' care-giving system."
'Jumping for Joy'
Viewers on TikTok were touched by the pup's adorable reaction in the viral clip.
Megan Lock said, "That baby is jumping for joy, literally" and Julie agreed, noting, "She's so happy to see you."
ClairePhe77 wrote, "how cute are those little jumps. she's adorable x" and user8401153899911 was also captivated by "the little hippity hops."
Markraven35 said it was "the best welcome home ever" and @hohoho17031 said it "makes me cry."
User @tattypompom490 simply noted "Oh that happy potato," while Tina wrote "Beautiful, so excited to see you."
Lizroberts100 declared that there's "nothing better than this" and ironmike2223 agreed, saying there's "no better feeling."
