A woman who spotted a dog peering through a fence realized he was searching for a kind soul to help him.

Marisa Casillas filmed what she noticed on her walk home and shared it to her TikTok account @marisacasillass on May 24. A golden retriever stuck as much of his head out from under the fence as possible. He was waiting for someone, anyone to notice him and help out.

Casillas realized the dog was eyeing the tennis ball that must have snuck out from under the fence and rolled into the street. She was in the right place at the right time to step in and assist this poor doggo.

As soon as she picked up the tennis ball, the dog's eyes lit up. He couldn't believe someone had realized he was in distress. Someone was finally going to bring his toy back to him. The first attempt to throw it back over didn't go quite as planned, but soon enough he was reunited with the dog toy.

It is not confirmed whether or not the dog accidentally dropped his tennis ball or if it was a secret mastermind plan to get others to play with him. But based on what she said in the video, one could conclude it is the latter.

Casillas said this is not the first time she has assisted this dog. He does it about three times a day, essentially every time she walks home. At some point, he must have learned that letting the ball roll out under the fence would get her to play and he has certainly succeeded.

'Ball Is Life'

The TikTok clip has reached more than 1.2 million views, 216,800 likes, and 357 comments as of Monday. Viewers flooded the comment section with crying emojis and expressing their sadness the dog had to experience any time away from his ball.

"Thank you for doing that!! I can only imagine the pain he was going through not able to get his ball. Ball is life," said a user.

One asked: "Aww, what if he knows you're coming and throws it for you to play with him?"

Another wrote what the dog was likely thinking: "He's like—'There's that nice girl, she plays with me.'"
