A dog's sweet interaction with the garbage man every morning has brightened people's week.

Owner Hannah Wilson told Newsweek via TikTok that she rescued her dog Honey in November, and every morning while going out for a bathroom break, they would see the apartment's garbage collector.

"They both would stare each other down out of excitement," she explained. "Finally one day I was like, 'Can she come say hi to you?'"

Ever since, it has become part of the dog's morning routine to go say hello to Joe, Wilson said. The love the two have for each other proves that they are "best friends."

Honey is seen pulling Wilson in a February 12 video that was posted to the account @hannahbaby222. It was Honey's favorite part of her day and she could not contain her excitement. Even Joe lit up when he realized Honey came to say hello.

They embraced each other like they were long-lost friends. And who knows, maybe they did know each other in a past life. She hugged him, which Wilson calls Honey hugs, and then smothered his face with kisses. In return, he scurried over to her and gave her all the pets.

"We can also hear when the garbage is backing into my complex and she looks out my window and gets all excited," Wilson said. "So sometimes I'll take her to go see him even if we've already went potty that morning."

Wilson knows how special their relationship is and, well, you can't keep two best friends separated for long. She also believes Honey can sense Joe's good character.

TikTok viewers have fallen head over paws for the precious relationship between Honey and Joe. It's impossible not to smile while watching this video. As of Friday, the clip had 54,700 views, 9,839 likes and 100 comments.

"The way he took his gloves off so fast to give her pets," pointed out a viewer. Wilson responded that he will drop everything to say hello to her dog, even if the garbage cans are in mid-air.

One person wrote: "You just know that's the best part of his day." And there's confirmation on that. He told Wilson before that it makes his day every time he sees Honey.

"Something so simple that blossomed into something beautiful," Wilson said.
