Disney visitors will face a string of ride closures next year, with several attractions across multiple resorts set to temporarily close while Disney carries out refurbishments and upgrades.

The closures range from several days to nearly three months, with Tokyo Disneyland's Jungle Cruise: Wildlife Expeditions among the attractions facing the longest scheduled downtime.

Walt Disney World, Florida

At Walt Disney World in Florida, guests visiting Magic Kingdom early in 2027 will continue to miss seeing Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress.

The Tomorrowland attraction has been unavailable since July 6, 2026, and Disney says it expects the attraction to reopen in the late spring of 2027 as it prepares a new version of the show.

The attraction, which follows an American family through changing eras of technology, is receiving updated scenes. Disney announced that Jamie Lee Curtis and Bryan Cranston will join its voice cast and that the revamped attraction will include an updated 1980s scene.

Meanwhile, at Disneyland Resort in California, Disney hasn’t announced a list of rides with temporary refurbishment dates spanning into 2027. The resort is, however, preparing for a major reimagining of Tomorrowland, but Disney hasn’t provided any specific closure dates.

Disneyland Paris

Visitors to Disneyland Paris will also face a major attraction closure in 2027, with Crush’s Coaster at Disney Adventure World undergoing the most extensive technical refurbishment in the ride’s history, which Disney is calling “a major technical modernization.”

The Finding Nemo-themed attraction closed on September 7, 2026, and Disney says it will be unavailable until summer 2027, which means a closure of around 10 months.

Disney said parts of the ride’s track will be replaced alongside upgrades to its operating, sensor and communications technology. Scenic elements are also being cleaned, repainted and repaired. Once those improvements are completed, the attraction will undergo an extensive program of testing and technical validation before reopening.

Disney said the refurbishment is intended to make sure that Crush’s Coaster can continue operating for years to come while improving comfort. The ride opened in 2007 and previously underwent an extended six-month closure in 2015, but Disney describes the current project “the most significant refurbishments in the attraction’s history.”

Tokyo Disneyland

The largest confirmed group of early-2027 closures is at Tokyo Disneyland.

Peter Pan's Flight is scheduled to close from January 6 through February 2, meaning the Fantasyland ride will be unavailable for about four weeks. Tokyo Disney Resort lists the shutdown as a temporary closure but doesn’t state a specific reason.

Jungle Cruise: Wildlife Expeditions will close from January 6 through March 31, an almost three-month shutdown, while Splash Mountain will close from January 7 until February 4, and the Haunted Mansion from January 8 through to February 4.

February will bring more closures. Star Tours: The Adventures Continue will shut from February 5 to 18, followed by Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin from February 8 through March 2.

Finally, Mickey's PhilharMagic is scheduled to close from March 4 through April 2.

Tokyo DisneySea Closures

Visitors to neighboring Tokyo DisneySea will also encounter a number of closures.

Both sections of the DisneySea Electric Railway, at American Waterfront and Port Discovery, are scheduled to close from January 8 through February 10.

Journey to the Center of the Earth, one of DisneySea's major attractions, will be unavailable for considerably longer, from January 8 through March 8. Meanwhile, the newer Peter Pan's Never Land Adventure, which opened with Fantasy Springs, is scheduled for a much shorter shutdown between March 9 and March 16.

That will be followed by two more March closures. Raging Spirits will be unavailable from March 17 through April 10, while Sindbad's Storybook Voyage will close from March 17 through April 16.
