Begging for food is second nature for this greedy dog, who will do anything for a little snack, but sometimes she has to draw the line at her mom's vegan plate.
Danielle Zarb-Cousin had just sat down to enjoy her salad, including some cucumbers and tomatoes, when her dog, who is a griffon breed, decided to see if there was any going spare. However, as soon as 4-year-old Cola realized it was just greenery on the plate, she seemed far less enthusiastic.
As Zarb-Cousin, from Essex, in the United Kingdom, filmed her pup's hilarious reaction, she told Newsweek that the pup had "a look of utter disgust on her face" when she discovered it was only vegan food.

The hilarious video was posted on Cola's dedicated TikTok account (@thefizzycola) on February 6 and it's already been viewed more than 860,800 times and gained over 164,400 likes. The pup, whose full name is The Fizzy Cola, was definitely "not amused" by the sub-standard snack her owner had on offer.

...
"I thought it was hilarious because she knew she wouldn't like it due to the fact there was no meat in my salad, and her face was really showing that she was tired but she'd beg for it anyway," Zarb-Cousin said.
"She usually does a little dance with her paws which is adorable, but this time she looked disgusted which made it even funnier. She is such a character, and her face is so expressive at times. She was really telling me I've got to drop this vegan thing as it's depressing her."
There are many fruits and vegetables which are safe for a dog to eat, however that doesn't mean they all are. The American Kennel Club (AKC) offers a comprehensive list of what they can and can't eat, suggesting that apples, bananas, blueberries, cucumbers, oranges, raspberries, broccoli and carrots are among those that are safe to consume. But it notes that dogs should never consume avocado, onions, grapes, tomatoes, or mushrooms.
There's a whole variety of fruit and vegetables which are safe for a dog to eat, so it's worth consulting with a veterinarian before adding additional food into their diet. They can often provide additional health benefits, as apples can be a source of fiber and vitamins A and C, cucumbers offer plenty of vitamins and potassium, and watermelon can be a positive source of hydration too.
For the most part, Cola is quite fussy about food, and she won't just snack on anything. Many times, when Zarb-Cousin has treated her pup to some of her food, the cheeky pup will spit it out immediately after. But Zarb-Cousin tries not to get too offended by this, as she jokes that "at least she feels involved."
Cola doesn't hate all vegan food though, as she loves cooked broccoli stalks, cauliflower, red peppers and sprouts. After the video went viral, many TikTok users were concerned that Zarb-Cousin restricts Cola to a vegan diet, but she told Newsweek that she certainly doesn't "force veganism" onto her dog.
"The social media response has been huge with people sharing what fruits and veggies their pets like to eat, and it's got people talking about what alternative foods dogs can have as a healthy snack," she continued.
"There has been a bit of concern for Cola, but I'd just like to say that she has her own dog food which contains meat, and then she sometimes has little bits off my plate if it's dog friendly."
In just over a day, the video of Cola begging for food has already amassed over 800 comments on TikTok, as people lauded her judgmental expression. One comment reads: "He's looking for the other course."
Another person joked: "Taste buds dried up so fast looking at that plate."
While another TikTok user responded: "My dog is so disappointed when I eat fruit."
