The restaurant brand has also unveiled other new menu items catering to those with a sweet tooth.

The Salted Caramel Banana Pancake Slam and the Salted Caramel Banana Stuffed French Toast Slam will be available to customers looking for dessert breakfast options.

Meanwhile, coffee lovers can try the new Mocha Cold Brew.

“Many restaurant chains over the last year have dealt with reduced foot traffic, as cash-strapped customers have preferred dining at home. With a plan to go private and close over 100 locations, Denny's is attempting to bring back some of these customers through an array of new offerings at discounted prices,” Alex Beene, a financial literacy instructor for the University of Tennessee at Martin, told Newsweek.

In late 2024, Denny’s announced plans to close 150 of its approximately 1,400 U.S. restaurants. Fifty of these locations were set to shut down by the end of 2024, with around 100 closing in 2025.

The new meal deals are likely looking to boost sales even while Americans remain cash-strapped, experts say.

“Many Americans are struggling with food affordability, and restaurant chains that have been able to provide dishes for the same price or cheaper as cooking at home have found success in recent months. Denny's is hoping to achieve the same success through these new meal deals,” Beene said.

Previously, Denny’s cited “shifts in consumer sentiment" for the closures.

"In any mature brand, when restaurants have been open that long, it is natural that trade areas can shift over time,” Denny's Corporation CFO Robert Verostek said last year. **“**Accelerating the closure of lower-volume restaurants will improve franchisee cash flow and allow them to reinvest into traffic-driving initiatives like our tested and proven remodel program."

Other brands have also switched up their menus in a bid to bring in new and old customers alike.

Taco Bell announced the launch of the Volcano Quesarito on menus beginning January 8.

“We’re always pushing for new ways for our fans to experience the things they love about our menu,” Taco Bell chief marketing officer Luis Restrepo said in a statement. “The Volcano Sauce is proof of how we continue to lead in sauce innovation, delivering bold, craveable experiences fans can only get from Taco Bell.”

The restaurant brand also unveiled a special Volcano-style menu, which includes options like Volcano Steak Fries, Volcano Crunchy Taco and Volcano Crunchwrap.
