A son has shared his mom's simple 'relationship-saving' advice, which has gone viral on Instagram.
Max Sanford (@kiingmax) shared his parent's solution to facing adversities in life. Dating coach Sabrina Zohar from Los Angeles weighed in on Sanford's viral, but "not groundbreaking," reel, which has amassed more than 175,000 likes, and she told Newsweek about the necessary, yet basic, communication skills that all secure relationships should have.

Max posted on Instagram: "My mom told me 'you dad and I got into the habit of asking each other do you want comfort or solutions' when the other was having a hard time, and that on sentence can save a relationship 9/10 times."
Zohar said this motion of asking if they want a solution or simply to hear them as they share what is on their mind is a good way to make your partner feel supported.
Zohar added: "My partner and I ask each other that all the time, 'Hey, do you want me to listen or do you want me to chime in during this conversation? How can I support you best?'
"Because what you are doing is you're allowing your partner to feel seen, heard and understood, so they feel safe in this relationship to open up vent and express themselves, knowing that you will respect their decision of either listening to them or trying to help," Zohar said.
The dating expert added that, in many scenarios when such a situation arises, where a partner is having a hard time, the listening party might become dismissive, walk away or try to fix it.

Zohar said: "None of this is groundbreaking information; this is just basic relationship dynamics and open communication within a secure relationship.
"I am happy that it is starting to become more mainstream, but it is just basic communication and how to listen to your partner so that they feel safe to express themselves," the expert added.
Instagram users resonated with the viral relationship advice. Malena.music posted: "Comfort is the solution."
Alex Harlem added: "So simple but so true. Facts."
Another relationship theory went viral on TikTok that involved emotional detachment.
Coined as the "let them theory", TikTok poster Abe Froman amassed 4.6 million views for her video that explained the idea of detaching yourself from other peoples' actions in an attempt to relinquish any emotion over how they choose to behave.
