This 1.10 update for Cyberpunk 2077 encapsulates the first of two substantial patches for the game, with the second installment due to arrive sometime next month. While the two patches in January and February had been widely discussed by CDPR staff following the game's botched launch in December, talk of the fixes had escalated since being mentioned in an apology video published by the developer last week. In the clip studio co-founder Marcin Iwinski suggested the next big update would be live within 10 days, and his team was just barely able to keep that promise.

Despite the promise kept, however, many reluctant Cyberpunk players find this so-called big update somewhat underwhelming. Even though it goes a long way toward making the experience better by reducing the number of crashes and ensuring many critical quests can be completed, there are obvious exclusions worth noting. For example, these notes suggest little has been done to address the game's wonky AI, particularly in the case of NCPD teleporting behind players who have acted in ways that live above the law of Night City.

It's also likely frustrating to Xbox owners to see that no platform-specific improvements were made there, yet they were prioritized on Sony's PS4 and PS5. This is likely because CDPR hopes to bring its removed game back to the PlayStation Store, but the omission is obvious nonetheless. Any update that makes Cyberpunk 2077 a better game is worth the release, but we were personally expecting this first big installment to be a bit more impactful. I guess the goalpost for when this game will finally be playable on last-gen hardware has officially been moved to February.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Stadia.
