Chuck Norris, who died on Friday at the age of 86 in Hawaii, was best known for his decades‑long career as an action star and martial arts icon, but he was also the father of five children from two marriages and another relationship.
Who Was Chuck Norris?
Norris was an American martial artist and action star who became one of the most recognizable tough‑guy figures in popular culture. Born Carlos Ray Norris in Oklahoma in 1940, he began studying martial arts while serving in the U.S. Air Force and went on to become a highly successful competitive fighter, later founding his own martial arts system. His skills led him into Hollywood, including a breakout appearance opposite Bruce Lee in The Way of the Dragon, before he became a major box‑office draw in the 1970s and 1980s with films such as Missing in Action, The Delta Force and Code of Silence.

What We Know About Chuck Norris' Five Kids
Norris married his first wife, Dianne Kay Holechek, in 1958. The couple had two sons before divorcing in 1989.
Their eldest child, Mike Norris, born in 1962, followed his father into the entertainment industry. He has worked as an actor, director, producer, and stunt performer, appearing in multiple films and television projects, including work connected to Walker, Texas Ranger.
Their second son, Eric Norris, born in 1965, pursued a career largely behind the scenes. He became a professional stuntman and stunt coordinator and later competed as a NASCAR driver.
Norris also had a daughter, Dina Norris (also known as Dina DiCiolli), born in the early 1960s from a relationship outside his first marriage. Norris wrote about acknowledging her later in life in his memoir Against All Odds. Dina has remained mostly out of the public spotlight and is not involved in acting.
In 1998, Norris married Gena O’Kelley, with whom he shared fraternal twins born in 2001.
The twins, Dakota Alan Norris and Danilee Kelly Norris, have been raised largely away from public attention, with only occasional appearances alongside their parents.
Who Was Chuck Norris' Ex-Wife, Dianne Holechek?
Norris' first wife was a central figure in his life long before he became a global action star. Born Dianne Kay Holechek in Los Angeles in 1941, she met Norris while they were teenagers at North High School in Torrance, California, and married when she was just 17. The couple remained married for three decades and had their two sons during the formative years of Norris’ martial arts and acting career. While Norris rose to fame, Holechek largely stayed out of the public spotlight, focusing on raising their family. The marriage ended in divorce in 1989, but she remained closely associated with Norris’ early life and career until her death in December 2025
What We Know About Chuck Norris' Wife, Gena O'Kelley
Norris' second wife was a prominent presence during his later years. A former model and occasional television actress, O’Kelley met Norris in 1997 and the two married in 1998. Their twins were born in 2001. O’Kelley appeared in small roles on television, including on Walker, Texas Ranger. She later became involved in business and philanthropy alongside her husband, serving as CEO of CForce, a bottled water company they co‑founded, and working with Norris’ youth martial arts nonprofit, Kickstart Kids. Norris publicly stepped back from acting for several years to care for O’Kelley amid health struggles, a decision he cited as a defining priority in his personal life.
