Therefore, on January 13, 2026—and on this day only—Chipotle Rewards members in the U.S. and Canada can get a free double protein upgrade (choosing from either meat or sofritas—a plant-based option made from tofu—options) for bowls, burritos, and salads, ordered online or through the app.
This aligns with the International Food Information Council's 2025 Food & Health Survey, which reported that 70 percent of Americans are aiming to make protein a dietary priority, and more than one-third have increased their intake in the past year.
Stephanie Perdue, Vice President of Brand Marketing at Chipotle, said, "With clean protein being a pillar of our core menu, our restaurants have long been popular destinations for athletes and gym-goers to refuel. By offering free double protein for Chipotle Rewards members on January 13, we're making it easier to power progress with real food."
How to Redeem The Chipotle Free Protein Offer
To redeem the offer, customers must use the promo code PROTEIN when ordering through the Chipotle app, Chipotle.com, or Chipotle.ca.
The offer applies to custom entrees as well as featured items from Chipotle's recently launched High Protein Menu, which includes:
- Double High Protein Bowl featuring chicken, white rice, black beans, fajita vegetables, tomato salsa, cheese, and lettuce, containing 81g of protein, 11g of fiber, and 760 calories.
- Double High Protein Burrito, which is a burrito filled with chicken, salsa, fajita vegetables, cheese, and lettuce, and has 79g of protein, 6g of fiber, and 840 calories.
- Josh Hart's High Protein Burrito—inspired by NBA player Josh Hart’s preferred order—this burrito has chicken, white rice, black beans, salsa, roasted chili-corn salsa, sour cream, and cheese, and contains 95g of protein, 14g of fiber, and 1,340 calories.
The protein choices that Chipotle is offering in its one-day menu update include chicken, steak, slow-cooked braised beef barbacoa, slow-cooked pork carnitas, and the tofu-based sofritas, offering customers with different dietary needs plenty of options.
The free double protein reward is only available on digitally-made orders—it does not apply to in-restaurant purchases, third-party deliveries, High Protein Cups, tacos, quesadillas, or kids' meals—and is limited to one reward per transaction, subject to availability.
