Fast-food chain Chick-fil-A has announced it will be launching several major changes—including menu updates and new, collectible merchandise—over the course of the entire year of 2026 as part of a campaign it’s calling “newstalgia,” which is aimed at celebrating its 80th birthday.
Chick-fil-A Menu Updates
Starting January 5, 2026, Chick-fil-A customers can order new "Frosted Sodas" or “Floats,” which will be a permanent feature on the menu in all U.S. locations.

Frosted sodas mix “Icedream” (which is Chick-fil-A’s signature vanilla soft serve ice cream) with a choice of fountain drink—which includes Coca-Cola, Dr. Pepper, Sprite, Fanta, Powerade, Hi-C, and Barq's Root Beer flavors, “for a smooth, creamy treat with a retro twist," according to the press release.
Floats layer icedream over soda for a “fizzy, foamy treat...perfect for sipping or scooping.”
Chick-fil-A is also rewrapping its fan favorite “Original Chicken Sandwich Meal” with new limited-edition retro packaging—a nod to its 80s heritage—designed to add “a sense of nostalgia to every meal.”
New Chick-fil-A Merchandise
Chick-fil-A will roll out four retro-style “classic” collectible cups over the year, each with a different retro-style design. One of these designs will be a “Golden Fan Cup.” Chick-fil-A will randomly distribute 3,000 of these special cups across participating restaurants. Customers who purchase a classic cup and get the Golden Fan design will win free Chick-fil-A for a year.
The Golden Fan Cup sweepstake will run until July 1, 2026, with 3,000 winners expected nationwide.
Chick-fil-A is also introducing specialty cow-shaped plush toys, each featuring a unique design, which can be bought in-store at participating locations. These collectibles will be released in limited drops throughout the year.
What Chick-fil-A Is Saying
Khalilah Cooper, vice president of brand strategy, advertising and media at Chick-fil-A, said: "This year marks more than an anniversary—it’s a celebration of the memories, meals, and meaningful moments that have brought people together at Chick-fil-A for generations. We have so much in store this year, delivering menu items and experiences that are fresh and exciting yet firmly rooted in Chick-fil-A’s renowned quality, care, generosity, and hospitality. We’re inviting Guests – old and new – to join us in celebrating our heritage, while looking ahead to the future with us."
What Chick-fil-A Fans Are Saying
When discussing the new frosted sodas and floats, one Reddit user wrote, "Frosted Dr. Pepper sounds fantastic." Another commented, "I don’t like soda, but I might try the Hi-C flavor one." A third claimed, “I’m glad they are bringing this nationwide bc I had them in San Diego a few Months ago, and it was so good.”
