A nurse has become a viral sensation after sharing her recent discovery about a pop song that could help save someone's life.

Racking up more than 2.4 million views, the video shared by @scrublifenotes shows the 28-year-old nurse wearing pink scrubs paired with a similarly colored cowboy hat. She is pretending to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), an emergency lifesaving procedure performed when the heart stops beating.

Many people may associate The Bee Gees' hit "Stayin' Alive" with chest compression as the song hits 100 to 120 beats per minute (bpm). However, the woman, who works in primary care pediatrics, has recently discovered "Pink Pony Club" by Chappell Roan is 107 bpm.

This means the 2020 pop song could potentially help save someone's life. The American Heart Association says that 350,000 people die from cardiac arrest in the United States. For adult cardiac arrest victims, chest compressions should be performed at a rate of 100 to 120 per minute and a depth of at least 2 inches, but not more than 2.4 inches.

For the general public or bystanders witnessing an adult's sudden collapse, Hands-Only CPR is recommended. This involves performing chest compressions without mouth-to-mouth breaths, suitable for out-of-hospital settings such as at home, work, or in a park. The purpose of this is to keep the person's blood flow active, even partially, which means there is a better chance for a successful resuscitation once trained medical staff arrive on site.

The clip captioned, "in @chappell roan and American Heart Association we trust," has been not only educational for many. Recognizing the song as more than just a hit could potentially help someone in the future if they ever need to perform CPR.

In true TikTok fashion, many users are making light of the video in the comments section.

"No [because] Pink Pony Club alone would 100% bring me back without before compressions started," wrote one user on the clip that has over 378,000 likes.

Another comment reads: "Your favorite nurse's favorite CPR beat."

A third commenter posted: "10/10 would bring me right back to life."

However, old habits die hard and one user isn't convinced, writing: "BeeGees is my go-to."

Newsweek previously spoke to Lauren Canaday, 39, who experienced a sudden cardiac arrest. She said she had a sudden loss of heart function, typically caused by an irregular heart rhythm, which stopped blood flow to her body while she was at home, leaving her clinically dead for 24 minutes. Now, Canaday is dedicated to sharing her experience of life after this near-death encounter.
