There's always one person who may express negative concerns about getting a pet. But the reality is often the total opposite when they start to bond with their new bundle of joy.
This is certainly the case for one man who has been caught on a Ring security camera interacting with his black cockapoo.
The video captioned "Makes out he doesn't even like him," shows a man carrying a black dog up his pathway. He can be heard saying, "Don't get wet paws" and "I show mummy how pretty you are" in a high-pitched voice.

Things To Consider Before Buying a Dog
Newsweek reached out to Joe Nutkins, a dog trainer based in the United Kingdom. She explained three things to consider before bringing a furry friend into your life.
Time
Nutkins said: "Dogs and puppies require time for interaction, guidance, taking outside for toilet training and walks, vet appointments, etc. Consider if you have time to add to your lives currently."
Cost
"Dogs can cost a fair amount to purchase up front, although some ethical breeders haven't raised prices in the last few years and rescue dogs can be a smaller adoption fee," she said.
According to Statista, dog owners in the United States spend an average of $442 on pet food per year. Nutkins advises people who are currently on a tight budget against owning a dog as they require vet checks, annual boosters, groomers, and accessories like leads, etc.
Picking the Right Breed
Nutkins told Newsweek: "A big consideration before bringing a dog home is what dog you feel is best suited!"
She advises people to ask themselves the following questions ahead of committing to a puppy:
- Do you want a puppy from a breeder or a puppy or dog from a rescue or rehome?
- Do you prefer a smaller, medium or large-sized dog
- Have you researched different breed types?
- Will they actually fit into your vehicle?
- Can you manage the grooming needed?
- Do they have breed traits that you wouldn't be comfortable with?
She said: "Just because a puppy looks cute today, it's important you look into how they will be once fully grown."
So far, the video has over 14,000 likes and plenty of comments from other people whose partner once said the same thing.
One man said: "That's me with our kitten after I was adamant I didn't want a cat."
"I have one of these at home—he makes out he don't want the dog yet I hear him every night like this," said another user.
A third user wrote: "The high pitched dog voice."
"It's always the man saying no then being the biggest softy," said yet another user. To watch the full video, click here.
