The St. Louis Cardinals won their fourth game of the season on Wednesday against the New York Mets, with star shortstop Masyn Winn driving in the winning run with a base hit. However, after the game, Winn was involved in an accident on US-64 when his car reportedly skidded on wet pavement.

Winn did not suffer any severe injuries and was treated by local first responders and Cardinals stadium personnel, but it was certainly a scary moment for the young shortstop.

On Thursday, Winn took to Instagram to share a message, letting fans and followers know that he is OK following the accident and that he will be back on the field in short order.

"For everyone wondering, I'm feeling great," Winn posted on his story. "Car is a little banged up but nothing that can't be replaced! Big thanks to our security team and first responders for taking care of me. See you on the field soon!"

Winn has struggled to start the season, hitting just .160 through the first six games. He picked up his first RBI of the season on his game-winning hit.

But fortunately for the Cardinals, Winn appears to be in good spirits and shouldn't miss any time. The team will begin a three-game series on Friday against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park, and Winn should be good to go for the opener.

The 24-year-old won a Gold Glove last season at shortstop, committing only three errors. He has served as the cleanup hitter for the Cardinals early this season, and while he is off to a slow start, he still managed to come through in the clutch.

More importantly, though, Winn apparently is doing well after the accident and is in good spirits as the Cardinals get set to take on the Tigers.
