Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War update 1.11 may already be live for some PS4 owners ahead of its February 4 unlock date, so the game's developers at Treyarch and Beenox have offered up an early look at the patch notes as well. Firebase Z comes to Zombies, while Express returns to multiplayer. You'll also find a bevy of playlist updates in the patch notes below. The details arrive courtesy of an official Treyarch blog post.

The most significant changes on update 1.11's massive list of fixes are, of course, Firebase Z and Express. In the first-ever free Zombies DLC map, players head to the jungles of Vietnam to stop Omega Group from harvesting Dark Aether for its own benefit. During their journey, squads will be outfitted with the reworked Tombstone Soda perk as well as Napalm Strike and Artillery Scorestreaks. As for Express, that classic map from Call of Duty: Black Ops II gets a sweet generational upgrade that maintains its classic U-shaped design. As these are the two biggest features found in update 1.11, you'll be able to select from tailored playlists to keep running through the new maps as long as you like.

That being said, given how extensive the rest of these patch notes are, there are plenty other smaller tweaks worth mentioning. Even though there isn't much here in the way of weapon balance tweaks in multiplayer, fans of rocket launchers will be glad to see those weapons get a bit of a boost in the meta. Speaking of boosted weapons, just about every gun gets a little bit stronger in Zombies as well, which suggests to us that we might be tasked with fighting some exceptionally deadly foes once Firebase Z is finally live. And, while not quite as impactful, we love the addition of more Prop Hunt maps and the slight tweaks made to Hardpoint. Most hardcore Black Ops Cold War fans likely know what update 1.11 is all about, but it's still nice to read the granular details.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
