President Donald Trump met with Queen Elizabeth II during his first State Visit to Britain this week. His predecessor's White House photographer, Pete Souza, took the opportunity to remind him of former President Barack Obama's own meeting with the Queen... and how "she likes him better."

Sharing a photo of Queen Elizabeth II shaking hands with Obama during a 2011 visit from the president and then-first lady Michelle Obama, Souza wrote as the caption: "She likes him better."

The former White House photographer followed up on the photo, which was "liked" by more than 200,000 social media users, with another image showing Obama leaning over to say something to the Queen, as she laughs.

"He makes her laugh," Souza said in the caption.

Not quite sold that he had fully driven his point home, Souza took to Instagram a third time just hours after his second post, to share a 2016 image of the 44th president being greeted by a then-two-year-old Prince George on a visit to Kensington Palace.

"The little ones can always tell," Souza said.

Since departing from the White House, Souza has been an outspoken Trump critic, using the years of photos he captured during Obama's time in office to troll the incumbent president whenever the opportunity arises.

One photo last month, showing Obama holding his head in his hands, was posted by Souza with the caption: "This is what a cover up looked like during the Obama administration." In the same caption, he offered a "hat tip" to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi after she and other Democrats suggested that Trump could be involved in a cover-up during discussions around the possibility of impeachment.

Souza has also used his Instagram page to share stand-out moments of Obama's presidency. These include the recent posting of a photo from 2010, when the 44th president had been scheduled to speak on Memorial Day at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetary in Elwood, Illinois.

"After a wreath-laying ceremony, heavy rain and lightning surrounded the area. He took the stage to announce to the crowd that they needed to evacuate the area, and his Memorial Day address had to be canceled," Souza wrote.

"Many were escorted to buses for safety. The President boarded some of the buses to personally apologize for the cancellation of his speech," he said.

During his state visit to Britain, Trump has faced strong opposition from protesters, who showed up in the thousands to rally against the president's presence in the United Kingdom and policies in the U.S.

Despite large crowds taking to the streets, Trump denied having seen any protests during his visit, calling news reports, including photos and videos of the rallies, "fake news."
