Alex Jones, the conspiracy theorist and founder of Infowars, has accused President Donald Trump of making a deal to sabotage Republicans in the midterms.
Jones' remark comes as a slew of conservative influencers and the president have traded jabs online amid the war in Iran.
Newsweek reached out to the White House via email on Friday for comment.

Why It Matters
The public rift between Trump and previously supportive right-wing voices highlighted fractures inside a base that helped power Trump’s political rise and could shape Republican prospects in the upcoming midterm elections.
At the center of the dispute were Trump’s statements on Iran and the Strait of Hormuz, which drew condemnation from conservative media figures and prompted calls from some to remove Trump from office using the 25th Amendment.
What To Know
Trump took a swipe at Jones and others including Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson on Truth Social Friday, saying, "It’s easy! Tucker is a Low IQ person - Always easy to beat, and highly overrated!!! So are Megyn Kelly, 'Candace'(Really Dumb and mentally ill!), and Bankrupt Alex Jones, who is completely 'fried.' There are others, also! Then we have some that are VERY GOOD, true MAGA all the way, and smart. I should do a list of good, bad, and somewhere in the middle. Wouldn’t that be fascinating??? Taking to X to respond to Trump, Jones said, "This is my response to the new attack President Trump launched on myself and other sane America [sic] patriots today. The evidence is overwhelming President Trump is committing political suicide on purpose, and has made a deal to sabotage the midterms.. America is now under the control of a foreign government. Everyone needs to fly their flags upside down, because our nation is in distress!"
Jones also targeted Trump's approval rating, saying in part in the video, "Republicans are going to lose the midterms massively coming up in just 7 months."
"I don't support this new Trump," Jones added while denouncing Trump's foreign policy regarding Iran. "It's so crazy what he's doing."
Historically, the party in the White House loses seats during the midterms, so Democrats are hopeful Trump's approval rating, which most polls show has dropped in recent months, could give them an advantage.
According to The New York Times polling aggregate tracking the president's approval rating, Trump has 40 percent approval and a 56 percent disapproval rating as of Friday.
What Happens Next
It is believed Trump and his administration will work to campaign for Republicans ahead of the midterm elections and travel to key states.
It is immediately unclear if his attacks on Jones and other conservative influencers will continue.
